METALLICA have released their first album, “I Am Iron Maiden”, on Spotify, iTunes and Google Play as part on Spotify+ Content Initiative, an initiative that will allow artists to promote and sell their music on streaming services.
“We are thrilled to be able to officially launch our first album on Spotify this year,” the band said in a statement.
“As an industry, we all work hard to promote the best music we can, but with Spotify and Google play, we are able to give our fans a way to access the best of what we have to offer.
We look forward to continuing to work with them on this initiative.”
The band’s album will be released on February 23 on Spotify by default.
The album is available in the US on the streaming service, and in Europe on Spotify in select countries, including France and Germany.
The band also confirmed that the band will release a new album called “I Wanna Be Your Dog”, which will be available on February 21 in the UK.
The band also revealed a new music video for the song “Iron Maiden”, which is set to feature the band performing the song at the BBC World Service.
